Hawkeye STI rear pads and discs
I have some new rear pads and discs to fit to my car which is a STI 06 model and was wondering if there is anything i need to be aware of? ive done discs and pads before but on a different type of car so is it straight forward and simply whip the pads out, wind the caliper back in, move the calipers, unbolt the discs and then reverse this to put them back on.
Any advice is appreciated as id like to get this done very soon as i think one of the pads is also sticking sligtly
Cheers Ste

The only problem some find is disc removal, which can be a PITA.
You need to release/back off the handbrake a few notches through the rear rubber cover on the hubs, then use a couple of M8 bolts screwed into the holes in the disc, tighten each a couple of turns at a time, and it will come off.
BUT: don't force it off. If you don't get the handbrake shoes backed off enough, they can catch and break the mechanism when pulling the disc off.
If one of the pistons is sticking, it might be an idea to overhaul the caliper, Ian at Godspeed does kits cheap.
