Default Hand break light problem

Hi guys
Just got a car and man the electrical problems are doing my head in.

The handbreak light is constantly on
previous owner said it was due the the car having a Hi-Spec 8 pot front brake conversion, Does anyone know if there is a way of sorting this out.

Any help would be great

its a 2003 STI

Regards

Dex

Then there must be something wrong with the handbrake switch itself?

Unless the speedo clocks have been changed?

Aye, handbrake switch.
You need to lift the glove box lid, undo the two screws at the front, they hold down the trim around the handbrake lever. Once they are out, lift from the rear and it unclips. You can swivel it around the gearknob out of the way.

Handbrake switch is at the rear of the h/brake lever. Could be grit in it, shorted out, stuck, etc.
