sticking calipers??
hoping someone can shed some light!!!
2000 subaru sport, new clutch fitted last week n/s caliper seized on on way home. Have put 2nd hand one on ok for a day then started sticking on every now and then.
Took it of today completely cleaned the piston and slide bolts looking like new, bled the brakes but still sticking, seems worse in reverse.
Can anyone help car is driving me mad she was perfect before the clutch change is this just coincidence???
Would appreciate any feedback or ideas any one might have.
p.s when sticks pressing break peddle few times will release if this means anything???

But if anyone suffers the same problem as me the caliper was a red herring and was not sticking it was in actual fact the clutch/brake compensator which was left in wrong position by garage after fitting new clutch.
After several hours my dad out in cold trying to sort problem it was hill climb issue and brakes sticking on due to compensator being left in wrong position.
Now all sorted and brakes not grinding on just a warning to whoever takes scooby to a garage please watch what they are doing as my dad who is 68 knows more about my scooby then a garage that is supposed to be a scooby speacialist.
So if anyone has a grinding noise or the car seems to be stuck on the brakes check the compensator under the bonnet and hope you dont suffer as much problems as I have.

My dad says looking at th engine on the right hand side on the chassis locate it by following the lower cable back
as to the problem you have to adjust best done on a slope with person in car and one outside adjusting.
The compensator has cable connection with a large return spring mine was in the wrong position and after amounts of adjusting my dad made sure spring was pulled back in the of position and adjust the cable accordingly
We found this parked in layby on hill and after many searching found out this was the problem hope this helps as if wernt for my dad I would be seriously thinking of scrapping my scooby
