Default MOT Fail leading to different sized tyres

My car currently wont pass its MOT due to bulges on the tyre wall, which means, joy of joys, I get to fork out for a new pair even though the original ones have 5-6mm left on them.

Currently running pirelli p7000 215,35, 18"

I'm going to buy some falkens (had them before, like them) and was just going to match the sizes. But, I think the standard fitment was 225, 45, 17

Given that I won't be getting rid of my alloys, can I run 45 on the front and 35 on the back (with a view to swapping out the backs to 45 when the time comes)?

I'm guessing no but please let me know if you know.

Thanks

Probably your best bet to be honest because it would either wreck the diff running different profiles but also if you went to a 45 profile all round you run the chance of the tyres catching the arches not to mention the ride would probably feel a bit weird with an 18" wheel, The best tyre match is a 225/40/18 for your motor

Or see if you can pick up a set of cheap 16 inch wheels with tyres to use in the mean time.

Thanks gents, went 35 in the end for ease and needing to get the MOT before driving it. Was desperate so had to book into a halfords auto centre. Tried to charge £105 per corner for £75 (camskill) tyres and £40 for a new fog lamp switch that I didn't need as it was just a loose wire. Will not be going there again.
16's on my newage, would look like it was on trolly casters. Cheap though I suppose.

Thanks again.
