Default Help! Replacing rear discs on 08 STi Hatch.

Am currently replacing (or attempting to) the rear discs on my 08 sti. The disc is not seized to the hub mounting point, but still won't come free. It stops about 3/4 inch short of coming clear of the wheel mounting lugs and if I look behind the disc, it appears as though something (appears to be some sort of housing cover for something) is seized inside the bell of the disc. If I look behind this 'cover' I can vaguely make out small, spring-like mechanisms. The right hand side of the rotor (the side where the caliper would sit) is looser than the left.

Any help would be appreciated as this is doing my head in and wanted to get it done today! Cheers in advance.

Search how to slacken/loosen the handbrake. Plenty of guides on here.

As above, you would appear to be looking at the handbrake mechanism.

As stated, plenty of guides on here as to how to slack it off.

DO NOT force it, it breaks small parts inside which then have to be sourced.........

for the hatch - on the front lower half of the disc is a small access hole that allows the h/brake adjuster to be "backed-off".........

likely there is a lip on the inside of the h/brake drum preventing it moving

yup thats the handbrake shoes.
Make sure you have released the handbrake. If it still won't come off us adjuster around back of hub.
