8.0 x 18 on a classic?
Ok, I've seen my perfect wheels. Problem is they are 8" wide and are to go on a classic.
I'd rather have 7.5" width, but would 8" cause additional rubbing issues over the 7.5"? would they stick out from the hubs more?
My suspension isnt much lower than standard and there is still a decent clearance with my 17s.
I know about the potential ride/handling issues of 18" but they would look superb and I'd probably keep my 17s aswell.

Depends on tyre size.
I ran 8x17 on my type R, complete with a 10mm spacer and 215 tyres on lowered suspension.

Thanks for saving me from a costly mistake

225/35/18 is the correct size for a classic on 18's, not 215's.
I ran 215/45 on my 17's...

Ross - I have a set of 8 X 18" at home with a 48 offset and they are shod with 225/35/18 if you want to try them out to check for "rubbage" (oo-er!) ?
Home in 8 days.

Cheers Russell, but I'll just hold out for the narrower ones as I'm in no rush. Car is also tucked away now anyways.
Might even just go for 17s if some come up
