Default MY99 Uk Turbo - Winter wheels

Hey all,

Thinking of getting some cheap winter wheels and strapping them with some decent winter rubber. Any recommendations?

Also would 16" or 17" be better in bad conditions? And will 16" wheels clear 4 pots? Thanks in advance

Plenty of 16's will clear standard 4 pots.

I've got a set 17's with Toyo SnowProx tyres in the dining room for when the weather gets crap.

I'm using my standard 17's (newage) as my winter wheels, with standard size tyres; but winter ones obviously. Have been fantastic for the last 2 years!

My car has 215/40/17 on it but I can not find that size winter tyres but if I go to 45 i have some options. The alloys on the car are all scuffed from the last owner but has good tyres, so my plan was to get winter tyres and fit them to these alloys, then for next year put new wheels on with the old tyres.

205/45/17

Not single, Lisa's sort of ok with it though, more so since there is only one set of wheels in the dining room now, there was 3 sets of wheels.

So there would be no advantages in going for 16" instead of 17"

No expert, but the rolling radius should be similar if the correct tyres are used.

16's may well be cheaper, so that's an advantage.

That's what I was on about, not the actual wheels.

Wheels "should" be cheaper too.

I sold a set of these below, which cleared 4 pots, with good tyres for £50.
