Question Braided hose fitting. Gc8

Got some braided hoses for the front of my classic turbo Uk. Just wondered if anyones got any guides/tips for fitting? I take it all the fluid is going to have to come out?

Not all of it.

Clamp and remove bottom of old brake hose at caliper and fit new braided line. Undo at top connection and quickly connect new braided line. Some will spill and you WILL have to bleed brakes, but it's not that bad.

I'd recommend a brake line spanner, has an extra side to give you better grip and stop you rounding of the nut. the one I have has a 10mm one end and 12mm the other, I'm sure the Subaru nut is 10mm. Have a look, can pick one of for around a fiver, and it will save some hassle.

Are you sure you have only got front lines and not all four!! As it is not a good idea to only replace two lines, you will put extra strain on the two OE pipes remaining which could result in them blowing.

Halfords do the nice brake union spanners.

Another way to reduce fluid loss is to get a bit of wood and partly depress (don't ram to bottom as possible to damage seals) the brake pedal so the fluid in the resevoir is then isolated.

I had to use a fare amount of heat as well to get mine undone, not as harsh as it sounds btw.
