Question about rebuilding wilwood brakes
Hi to all...
Some days ago i've bought on this forum a set of wilwood calipers in 'full working order'.
On one of them i've found snapped the thread of the bolt that fix the bajo of the brake line, and without the head of one of the 2 bolts that fix the caliper to the adaption braket. Not too safe... The seller has said that was ok I've still not even see the other caliper...
Apart this throubles (i've lost all the day taking out the snapped bolt, cleaning and sorting all the problems found...) , i've excepted to to a full overhaul on them, and i've started a full rebuild following this simply guides:
http://www.wilwood.com/Pdf/howtostor...er_Rebuild.pdf
http://www.circletrack.com/techartic...ild/index.html
Dismantling them i've found this:
Some pistons are slightly pitted, and the caliper bore is quite heavily pitted..
On the guides there is wrote that pitting is unacceptable on the bore, and in any case there is a bit of (maybe too much...) play between piston/bore...
Now i've few option...
- Put all together with new orings, maybe inverting the calipers to distribute the wear (moving the thrust zone) and use or sell them
- Send back the clipers to the seller (if he not want, opening a paypal dispute)
-They are unusable and i've lost my moneys (risks buying used things...)
What people think about this?
Thanks!
