Default Rear Disc Wear

Rear discs on my 2006 STI dont appear to be wearing evenly. The discs are good quality items from Ian Godney and the pads are Ian's Kevlar items. They have about 2.5k miles on them since I fitted them last year.

From the pic you can see that the disc isnt showing even wear, I was expecting the surface of the disc to all be shiny as on my other cars etc.

I have been driving the car very hard so rear brakes are being used etc.

Front pads are Performance Friction Z rated and the disc wear pattern is as expected.

Is the pad material too hard etc ??

Any recommendations ??

That's EXACTLY what my rears look like.

I put it down to either hard spots on the pads, or maybe even stones etc getting between pad and disc.

They still work well though.

Just to close this off. Replaced my rear pads with Performance Friction Z rated pads ( same as front ) and the discs looks as below. This is after only 100 miles without very hard braking. You can see the disc face is starting to wear evenly. Not sure what the cause was but I guess the kevlar pads I was using are just a little too hard for my driving style etc.
