Brake caliper removal advice , please.
2005 WRX PPP
Can anyone advise me on what to expect when disconnecting the brake pipe at the back of the (front) 4 pot brake caliper where it enters?
I think it is a banjo fitting but there is a short pipe coming from the bottom of the fitting and goes back into the caliper. What is this pipe?
Presumeably there is a seal of some sort that needs to be removed and renewed or perhaps not.
Any guidance would be very much appreciated.
Thanks,
Mouser.

Its not a pipe , it just a piece of metal that fits in a hole in the caliper to stop the banjo fitting spinning in place.
If you take the pipe off brake fluid will drain out , you can get clamps to put on the rubber hoses to stop them leaking when you take the pipe off the caliper , these clamps don't work on braided hoses though.
Either side of the banjo fitting are copper washers , these can usually be re-used
Cheers Ian
