Default Spraying Brembos - Getting there!

Has anyone sprayed Brembos with a rattle can? The reason I ask is I want them as close to factory colour and I believe the closest match is Honda Inca Gold. However I can't get this in a high temp formula so I'm worried it will be affected as the brakes heat up?

Frayz done a top guide:

I believe he used can's.

I'm sure Ian Godney once said they don't need to be painted in a high temp colour. Although if you are a regular track day addict, it might be a good idea. You use the colour you want, and a UHT lacquer.

Yes you can use a rattle can to paint them , calipers don't get hot like the discs or pads do with normal fast road , mild track use , they would with serious competition use.

I have started a thread this morning showing what we can do with them

Cheers Ian

If you can afford it get Ian to do them. He did mine WR blue and they came back looking amazing.

Bit of a long story mate Ian has just sent back my original pair that were beyond repair. The pair I'm looking to paint are reconditioned units supplied by a local specialist. The have been fully re-conned but require painting to finish. To send them to Ian would seem a bit silly as he'd no doubt have to strip them to paint.

Well........ slowly getting there.......

The company who supplied the calipers have blasted them back and applied an anti-rust electro plate type coating. They have left quite a lot of deep scratches etc which has meant filling, sanding and using high-build primer. Ready for top coat paint now though

I'm getting along with these now. Just need to let the lacquer dry tonight and tomorrow, rub it back with some 1200 grit and spray again. Once the decals arrive I'll apply them and seal with more lacquer. Here's a pic;

Thanks mate

To be honest I'd have loved to got my hands on them stripped down to save masking the seal areas. That said the areas around the seals that I've masked have a good anti-rust coating and nobody will ever see there anyway.
