Flirting with the Tarox 40 groove discs and Mintex 1144 pads from Graham Goode. Just wondered if anyone had any experiences with this setup? I'm looking for a good intitial bite with minimum brake dust.

Please feel free to suggest alternatives!!!

Many thanks

Otis.

I have the discs you mention (Tarox G88) but with the Tarox black pads. Added braided hoses and AP racing 600 fluid as well.
The setup is good. It requires a bit of warming up but from then on it is better than standard with much less pedal movement and better bite. Obviously do not expect any miracles from replacement discs.

Why don't you try the Tarox pads? I thought that they ought to be perfectly matched (temperature wise) with the discs and this is why I have bought them. No noises whatsoever when hot or cold. You might only hear a sound coming from the grooves when the discs are well warmed up and you continue to push them. You don't feel anything through the pedal though.

They are not very popular in the UK. I haven't heard any good/bad comments. I am really curious if anyone has tried both Tarox/Mintex pads to hear what he has to say.
I don't think that GG have the Tarox ones or at least they didn't have them 3 months ago.

Dimitris.

Wink

I would suggest a visit to www.kad-uk.com, speak to Colin, or Peter.

They have a great range & I had there discs & calipers recently fitted to my car. They are absolutly awesome, though i vouched for mintex 1155 pad

A bit more squeal from the pads when braking, & a touch more dust, though you need to sit in the car to appreciate the set up.
I'll post a picture

Or see my post under: 378mm fitted....

I went for the TSL upgrade Mr Flap

Group N Grooved discs, DS2500 and also braided lines + Silkolene Pro Race fluid. All fits under my 16s nicely.

Big improvement on the std pads & discs IMHO.
