i fitted my new 17" rota tarmacs to my 96 wrx which is running eibach coilovers and when driving, the tyres appear to be rubbing againt the suspension on the rear!!
i was told on here that the offset etc was fine but still i get rubbing.tyres are 215/40 17.
so do i need a spacer???if so what size?

hi m444gy,i bought them from here and they were the wheels i pmd you about before, off a classic my00iirc,took it to a mate today and had a look,it appears the previous owner had the eibach coilovers set on the lowest setting.
i think we are gonna try to raise the height a bit see if it helps
any idea if it would fix it?

I run et48 on my bug with no problems and it is only 5mm out as Maggs suggests.

Is it rubbing on both sides?

Check you top mounts haven't collapsed. If it is at it's lowest setting has the camber been corrected as it may be running excess camber that could cause the rubbing.

I would suspect the camber if it's too low - you may be able to correct it without raising it, but if it is that low it will be putting some additional strains on the driveshafts etc.

it is extremely low and harsh, was thinking that raising it a bit would help all round,i.e:remove rubbing on suspension, reduce stress on components etc?
