Post Brake pipe help (ABS)

Ive had to empty an engine bay twice now on a classic impreza (for painting) and both of them have had the following: Seized fittings on the solid metal brake piping running in the engine bay to the abs pump, master cylinder etc. The 10mm fittings have been impossible to undo even with penetrating fluid like wd40/ac90.

So on both cars ive had to resort to using mole grips which done the job but have half ruined the fitting heads. can you replace these solid pipes and if so where can i get a set??

Any advice will be great thanks.

Forgot to mention the reason why I had to resort to mole grips is because the nuts would just round off if I put too much leverage on the spanner.

When you say make your own mate what did you have in mind? Seems very very difficult to do that due to the piping route and the fiitings it requires on the ends to screw into the abs pump etc

where you using a proper brake nut spanner? for years I couldnt see them being much better then a normal open/ spanner but they are worth keeping in the tool box,
You can buy bags of the ends off ebay or they sell kits with pipe and the ends inc.

Hi
I have pipe and fittings here , if you measure the length of pipe you need I can make them up for you , and you can easily bend them to shape to fit them in place
Cheers Ian

Hi Ian,

I bought my brake kit from you earlier in the year, AP 4pots front and twin pots rear etc.

Could you make me up something that will enable me to get rid of the abs?
Its for a 1998 wrx import.

Thanks.

Yes that shouldn't be a problem , you would just pipe it up direct from the master cylinder to the calipers and bypass the ABS module
My 1999 Type R rally car is piped up this way
Cheers Ian

Ok that's good to know that it can be done, can you supply me with what I'd need to do this? Also does this result in the abs module still being in the engine bay or is it removable once you have bypassed it?

Thanks
