Anyone using 20mm hubcentric wheel spacers
This is going to sound like a stupid post but here goes.
Im running 30mm hubcentric at the front to clear my brakes. Im not running anything at the rear so the car looks a bit silly.
ive tried the 30mm at the rear but i get rubbing slightly. I think 20mm will be fine.
My issue is this, ive seen 20mm on ebay saying you dont need any mods, just bolt and go. BUT my hub studs are 25mm. surely this means the studs extend 5mm past the spacer?
If anyone has fitted them please let me know how you did it

63mm extended wheel bots are available on the Bay of E (25mm longer)

Just remove hub, heat up, bash out, and insert new ones.

If you get some like these Dave, the spacer attaches to your original bolts and your wheel to those on the spacer

i know i can get longer studs ER but i dont fancy removing all hubs etc. dont have a heat source either. otherwise id just go for floating spacers not hubcentric. cheers for idea though mate

I see what you mean with the ones in the group buy.

I have to admit, i did think that, I have definitely seen that some of my previous wheels, but had a look at my PFF7's that are taking up room in the kitchen, and they have a solid centre with no recesses. Worth a look on the Alloys in question though i guess.

Thats must be it then, the recess i mean. mine are also solid with no where for the excess stud to go.
cutting the hub studs doesnt appeal to me that much lol.
longer studs with floating spacers could be the answer for below 25mm but i dont like the idea of a spacer that big that doesnt attach to the hub. heard that floating **** your bearings but the hubcentric are fine due to attaching to the hub.

I think both can knacker your bearings as they will add the loading on the bearing with the increased offset. I just think that hubcentric ones are better designed and more secure in terms of fitment - although floating spacers where used a plenty when I started modding cars many moons ago, as long as longer studs/bolts were used there wasn't any real issue

I had 20mm hubcentric spacers on the front of my uk turbo for the wheels to clear the AP 4 pots also had to buy the longer studs which took a while coz unless you have a perfect nut they a nightmare to pull back into the hub.
All in all i'd go for the ones that bolt onto your existing studs and have new studs on the spacer
