Question P1 brakes binding

Hi all,

Just got back from 40 miles or so of motorway driving, and the wheels on my P1 are unusually warm. The left rear is especially bad and there was a lot of squealing from that corner too, which stopped under braking but started up again as soon as I pulled away.

That corner is obviously binding, which is odd as I've replaced that caliper quite recently for exactly the same reason. I'm assured that the replacement caliper I fitted was OK.

Can one faulty caliper cause the other wheels' brakes to bind too? Or might I have a problem elsewhere?

Andy

could be the handbrake assembly (inside the drum oif the rear disc) or could simply be the pads seized in the carrier if you only changed the caliper itself

Pressing on the brake pedal made the noise temporarily stop; would that happen if it were the handbrake mechanism that was sticking?
