it could simply be the pads have siezed/jammed in the caliper thro lack of servicing...........

either way it needs to be stripped/cleaned/checked by someone who knows what they are doing to sort

While you are here - I have a similar'ish problem with the rears on my 03 STi where I have recently changed the rear discs and am using new Red Stuff pads which I bought on a GB a few years ago. The fronts are DBA discs and DS2500 pads (pads bought from you about a year ago)
The rears are taking a very long time to bed in and appear to be doing very little work. I believe that with the EBD system, the rears actually don't do a lot of work in normal circumstances, but I was wondering if a pad of a different material spec. might be advisable, eg DS2500 to match the fronts? Everything is working ok - cylinders, pads free, HEL braided lines, system bled etc.
Would welcome your advice.

may well be your three lettered pads.................

but yes ds2500's are easily available to "match"
