advice needed on discs sizes

Default advice needed on discs sizes

i have a hawkeye wrx and have just bought front brembos,discs and pads,

i know i have 2pots on the rear with 290x18mm discs.

but can i change the rears to 316x20mm discs on my 2 pots or is not worthwhile

Hi Tom,

You would need to change the calipers, along with some brackets in order to fit the 316mm discs.

Your current rear setup is more than adequate IMHO with decent pads. Always nice to have matching front and rear Brembos too though

but im changing the colour of the brembos to red i think to match the rears. and as im running ure braketech discs at the rear and mintex 1155 pads they should be fine then,

should be a gd stopping machine then lol

HI
You will not need a bracket as Bob has said , the Gold brembo 2 pot calipers and discs will fit straight onto your car , you cannot use the 290mm discs and pads you have fitted on now with them though , you will need the 316mm discs and the correct shape pads for the brembo's , one thing you will need is the thicker handbrake shoes to make the handbrake work , as your existing diameter handbrake is 170mm and the Brembo discs have a 190mm handbrake
It is worth having one brake expert on here so you get the correct info eh
