Default hawkeye brake upgrade

Want to upgrade my hawkeye sti brakes but still keep stock brembo calipers

thinking of just going for

peformance friction pads all round
hel brake lines
uprated fluid

now how much difference would peformance friction front discs make. my stock ones are in good condition. but would it be worthless using good pads on stock discs

I'd wear the std. discs out using a more aggressive pad such as Ferodo DS2500, then I swapped to PF on the front.

The biggest increase in the brakes is in the pad , if your discs have plenty of life in them they will work great with the PF pads , having a grooved disc would be slightly better as your getting rid of the gas build up given off by the pad , a better pad such as the PF or DS2500's gives off less gases than a standard pad.

I can supply you the items you need on a next day delivery

Hope this helps
Cheers Ian

Presuming your refering to PFZ pads I wouldn't mention these two in the same sentance.

For any newage Brembo application I would advise Performance Friction's 'Z' pads for road and occasional track use combined with decent brake fluid such as Motul's 5.1.
For heavy track use I'd suggest PF01's with Motul RBF600.

FYI, our 2008 Time Attack 'heavyweight' STi ran OEM brake lines and experienced no issues stopping other than into the hairpin at Knockhill and this was due to the brake fluid over heating as no additional cooling/ducting was utilised.
