Default Brake Pad Knocking

Guys,

I don't know how to describe this apart from a knocking noise
But how on earth do you prevent pads from making a knocking noise in the caliper?
Definately a metal on metal noise like the pad moving very slightly in the caliper.

What calipers & what pads...?

If they are of a racing breed then they do tend to have poor pad retention clips fitted or none at all...!!

If they are standard road calipers, i.e. off a subaru road car then check to see if the pad retaining clips are in place and working (holding them in snug)

Cheers,
Kim.

Mine does exactly the same

MY05 STi Gold Brembo's with Mintex pads, but also mine have an annoying squeek when i am driving too only goes away if i slightly touch the brake pedal.

Going to strip them and clean them when i do the coilovers this weekend hopefully see if that helps at all??
