Exclamation hubcentric wheel spacers

is it correct that hubcentric wheel spacers will be fitted on after the disc in on the hub?

I ask this as im in the middle of fitting my 4 pot ap brakes at the front and require quite a large spacer for clearance, when i was looking at it i realised that obviously if the spacer went on first then the disc would be out of line to pass through the caliper.

Many thanks,
Joe

Hi Joe
No you fit the discs onto the hub , if you need wheel spacers they would fit between the disc and wheel

Exclamation

Hi Ian its its joe as you probably guessed you sent me the brakes the other week and they are great can't wait to test them out.

So yes the disc goes on 1st as normal over the wheel studs and hub then the spacer bolts on, then the wheel??

I tried a 3mm but still need lots more clearance

thanks
Joe.

Hi Joe
I thought you tried a wheel on and it just touched ? have you tried a series of washers on to see what thickness spacer you need.

Cheers Ian

I did but just as a rough guide, however once the disc was pushed right back onto the hub, the spacer on and the wheel nuts tightened on, the wheel was touching the caliper and i had ran out of studd to get a safe amount of turns on.

This is what i should have done 1st time round looking back on it, instead of just sitting the wheel on the studs without tightening it right down so its tight and even. Do you know what i mean?

Also was my sequence right in the last post about what order the spacer goes on?

Cheers again,
