Can anyone confirm which size pads fit the standard rear brakes for the MY98 UK-spec Impreza Turbo? For the rears I am just looking at some Black Diamond road pads:

This page specifies the PP464 pad for 1/98 onwards, but it also shows the larger front disc appearing from 1/98, which is wrong. The larger 4-pot front brakes were introduced with the MY99 car and the MY98 had to same 2-pot front brakes as the MY97 as standard. Is the PP230 actually the correct rear pad for the standard MY98 brakes?

OK, solved this one with a little help from the guys at Scoobyworld. You can easily see the shape of the pad just by looking through the wheel. Check for the cut-outs or tabs on the sides of the pads as shown in the pictures here:

My guess is that the MY98 model cars are the PP230, whereas late '98 plate cars will be MY99 model and use the PP464. Anyway, mine is a MY98 R-reg and has the PP230 shape pads.

all 98 model year Impreza's use the one you mention only 99 impreza's use the newer "tabbed" pad (PP464), however similiar age 97-98 forester turbo's use the newer shape from the start........
