Default Vredestein Quatrac 3

Has anyone on here ever used these tyres on their Impreza?

I am considering new boots for my Classic Impreza and these would fit the purpose as they carry the snowflake marking. I was hoping that someone who have used them could tell me about their experience with them.

Thanks in advance.

All the best,
Crissy

If you want a winter tyre buy a winter tyre (Vredestein Wintrac) if you want a summer tyre buy a summer tyre (Vredestein Sessanta or in 16" Sportrac 3). All season tyres like the Quatracs are IMHO jack of all trades master of none.

^^^ That's exactly what I was after, a tyre that's OK in all conditions and gives me more grip on the snow than Summer tyres without having to go for yet another two-sets-of-tyres scenario :-) But I hear what you are saying and if I didn't have to be money conscious I would get a set of Nokian WG32 and a set of 60's.

^^^WRX Dazza: I'll try and get hold of Mags and see what he recommends.

Thanks for your suggestions

I had these put on the wifes Nissan Primera. Although they seem to work fine, I certainly wouldn't put them on the STi! They are bog ordinary tyres for bog ordinary cars.
I am using Sessanta's and find them the best yet, although I don't bother to venture out in the snow.
As you're from Essex, is snow enough of a problem to play such an important part in your tyre choice?

Hi JohnD,

Most of my driving takes place on country lanes that barely make it on the map and have never seen a gritter in their entire life... I noticed this morning that on some stretches there is still frozen snow from 3 weeks ago, so unfortunately I get affected really badly by this silly weather hence the decision to get the Subaru.

As the front tyres are getting low anyway I thought about getting new ones asap and that's why I was wondering if the Quatracs (being a lot more expensive than the 60) were any good. I don't have a choice, I have to get out on the road every morning in all sorts of weather and long before the sun rises (horses to feed) so, on this occasion, I have to put safety first and pretend that I don't care about performance.

All the best,
Crissy

I see your point!
Feeding horses at silly o'clock was part of my families regime a few years back, too! (do you compete?)
This is a link to Elite in Rainham. Vredestein QUATRAC 3 Performance Tyres | Tires Buy Online - Super Fast Delivery
I have to make a correction here - the ones I used were Quatrac 2 They've gone a bit up market with the 3, it would seem, so my comment as being "bog ordinary" may not be relevent!

Thanks for the link JohnD, that's excellent!!

forgot to say: no, I don't compete anymore. My mare has a wicked sense of humour and she is a better martial artist than me at times when she doesn't fancy being ridden... throws are her speciality... ;-)
