Unhappy Alloys Wheel Confusion

hi guys i have a MY2000 Classic Turbo 2000

it currently has a set of 17" alloys that use spacers

my question is this one of them is buckled and i cant stand the look of them anyway.

I want another set of 17inch alloys because i have just broght some new tyres for all of them.

Do 17 inch alloys not fit the subaru and will i always need a spacer ect.

and wtf does all the 7"by 17" and 43mm offset all mean.

srry im not very intelligent when in come to things like these.

i was told that the bad vibration cause by the wheel potentially being buckled is made worse by the fact the space keeps the wheel away from loking onto the hub properly

help any idea or can can anyone shed any light on this?

do any of u guys have problems with ur 17" alloys and Vibration at say 80Mph.

There are a some 17 inch alloys that don't go over the 4 pots brakes you have, hence the spacers. I wouldn't have thought there would be many that don't fit though. Any sstandard Subaru 17's would fit, apart from the STi's from 2005 onwards.

As mentioned, any standard Subaru 17's, apart from the 2005 onward STi alloys.
17x7 means the rim is 17 inches in diameter and a width of 7 inches.
The offset is basically the clearance of the inside of the rim.

Show us the wheels. Tell us the spacer thickness. Need some more info to help.

They would fit, as the seller mentions. So it would be interesting to see your wheels, as there is only 1mm difference on the offset to yours at 43mm. You never know, you might not even need spacers. As I thought most 17's go over the 4 pots. Its the Brembo's they struggle with.

Try and look at the gap you have between the face of your brake calipers and the spokes of the wheel. Thats why people use spacers, to bring the wheel out so it doesn't touch the calipers.
