Once you have taken the calipers off , there is a rubber bung around the back of the back plate , remove this , inside is the handbrake adjuster , slacken this off with a screw driver , this will release the shoes enough for the disc to come of without damaging the handbrake shoes and fittings , if the disc is tight on the hub , it will just be rusted on , a few taps with a mallet will crack them loose to get them off
If your stuck ring me on 01656 723060 and i'll run through it with you

Cheers Ian

or just use a 12mm headed bolt x2 and use the threaded holes within the disc hub to remove, the bolt will push against the inner hub and just pop the disc off

and rip all the fixings keeping the handbrake shoes in place , which will mean a trip to the dealers to order new parts.

the shoes NEED to be slackened off in order to get the disc off first

if the handbrake lever has been released in the car then the shoes wont be touching the inner part of the disc hub and they come off easy,no problems, well, this is how i did it,no need to slacken off the adjustment

Sorry your wrong , the adjustment on the handbrake lever is to adjust the cables , not the shoes , loosening the handbrake lever adjusters will not loosen the shoes inside the disc , you might be lucky and the disc will come off , more than not the shoes need slackening off inside the discs or they will get damaged pulling them off
Cheers Ian

Ah ok , if it came off without slackening anything off , it will be because the shoes and the cables would have been a slightly loose fit then , when fitting the new ones on , you should move the disc side to side and adjust the shoes behind the backplate until you can just feel it dragging , then slacken off very slightly , then adjust the handbrake lever adjusters to get a good feel in the handbrake , that is the correct way to set it up
Cheers Ian

Ian is correct (and as a brake specialist he should be LOL) If you removed the rear discs without slacking off the shoes you were lucky and/or the shoes were not adjusted right in the first place. Have a look here https://www.scoobynet.com/wheels-tyr...rake-disc.html
