Hi guys you have proberly been asked this one already but is there much of a difference between standard disc's to grooved one's in the braking performance on a road going only car, not for track?

I've now got grooved discs on my 05 STI

The grooves help keep the pad surface clean & un-glazed.

They can be of a benefit, especially if uprated pads are used.

I would however stay away from cross drilled discs for road use as they tend to crack between the holes drilled in the disc.

As above, worthwhile when used with uprated pads.

We have a wide range available.

I'm on my second set of grooved/drilled, had no problems with either.
I was told to avoid cross-drilling for TRACK use........

To an extent yes, but the grooves also offer an escape route for gases which can build up during prolonged braking. thus the brakes appear to have more 'bite' and less 'fade'

as also stated drilled discs can become cracked around the hole...
