Im thinking this is the wrong way around, can someone confirm this?

you cant tell from that pic but it is more important to have the internal cooling veing facing in the right direction (if they are curved) rather than the external groove............

Vanes should be angled towards the rear to dispatate the heat outwards (assuming they are curved vane).

clockwise as in pics , just like rotational tyres . some might argue opposite way to enhance extra grip/friction (wear) . if you reverse the direction sound will increase too under heavy braking and u will only reverse em to the way they are ! personal preference i think ?
