Just had my two year old w reg turbo serviced, i have done 26,000 miles and i knew that i would need new brake pads but didnt plan on needing new discs..... i have never heard any grinding that would indicate rubbing on the discs ......... is it normal to need new discs at this stage????

If the dealer is suggesting this to, ask why. They might be warped or scored. If not then I would say theres no need to change them. If they are, then this is a good opportunity for you to upgrade to a nice phat brake kit.

There is a minimum thickness of 22mm(24mm when new) on the discs. This might be the problem. Going any lower than this affects the heat capacity of your brakes, can cause problems with the pistons going out too far, brake fluid leaking past the seals etc. Ask them why they replaced them.

To add mine where past this limit at 14000miles Depends on how you or the previous owner used the brakes.
