New age wheels on Classic - confused by offsets.....

They are fine on my car, I've even put a 3mm shim on so that the wheels are back where they should be with regards to offset.
No probs yet!

I quite like the look of the New Age WRX 17" alloys on the classic shape, after seeing them in Gallery.
Bit confused
about offsets though, I thought I'd read somewhere that WRX wheels on a classic was not a good idea?
