Painting Brake Calipers
Hi,
I'm not far off buying bigger brakes and chances are I'll be wanting to change the colour of the calipers.
As far as I'm aware, factory painting is done by getting them annodised and this proves the best method to long lasting coverage without fading and flaking etc...
I know hamerite is a heat resistant paint and have used this in the past with good results, but I'd like them done professionally and was wondering where I could go and what process would be best to guarantee the paint looks good and stays on without fading or flaking??
Would powder coating work? If so I know a few guys are trying to organise a group buy for powder coating their wheels... I guess I could slip the calipers in there...

I'm pretty sure powdercoating involves stripping the calipers of the pistons, as they are baked at a high temp. That is a bit of a job itself, so puts a lot of people off.
You can get a good finish with UHT paint, as demonstated by frayz https://www.scoobynet.com/essex-scoo...r-brembos.html
