can anyone tell me the correct offset for blob eye hubs
looking to buy a new set of wheels for my subaru 04 blob eye, was offered a set of 18s but wandered what the correct offset was, can any1 tell me?

Offset should be the same as your std. wheels, however to get larger rims in the offset is often changed. std STI alloys on mine are ET 53, my 8" rims are ET 44 and with 235's on the rear they just scrape the arches, 225 section tyres would be fine.
Clearance on the strut/spring is as important as the tyre/wheel arch.

I've had 18" wheels at 7.5 wide with an offset of 39 on my 05 sti, and currently have 18" x 8 with an offset of 51, both with 225/40/18 tyres on

With a blobeye you can have quite a range off offsets available. It also depends on what rim width you want to go with.
Standard WRX rims are 7" wide with 55 offset. PFF7's are 8" wide with a 51 offset. Generally you can go as low as et40 and up to et55 depending on the width chosen. As said above, it isn't just arch srapping you've got worry about but also catching your suspension.
