Will there be excess were on the bearings also?
Its not a road car BTW and I have big arch flares to cover it?

I got that offset on purpose for the wheels to stick out about 40mm in order to fill the extended arches.
The idea was that an increased track would improve handling but not sure now if that offset will 'upset' the way it feels?

How does alignment help ?
The maunfacturers design the steering and suspension as a system, adding 20mm (?) to the offset is going to increase the torque caused by the wheel about the steering axis, changing the "feel" for a start. Not absolutely lethal for a track car, but it might be unpleasant on a bumpy B-road....
IMHO
Increased wear on the bearings, YES, but again a track car should be monitored and maintained anyway, I've killed two of my wheel bearings over 48,000 miles with some track use.
