I'm trawling around trying to find the best quotes for AP 6 pot front conversions for my P1, and was wondering if anyone can direct me to a good deal? All the prices I've got so far are at least in the £1800 and above range (INC VAT). Any help would be appreciated!
Johnny.

Johnny what is your current brake setup (Alcons)?
If it is the above I am interested for your brakes when you'll sell it.

Thumbs up

Talk to Ian at Godspeed; I seem to remember he does AP 6 pots with his own discs for about £1550ish.

Jim Theo - sorry, the brakes are the standard 4 pot prodrive brakes that came new with the P1.

A lot of companies seem to be using their own discs or calipers with other branded parts, AP etc. I've had a good recommendation about 10pot Tarox brakes - does anyone know anything about these in terms of quality?

Nigel - well I guess that answers some questions about Tarox brakes, eh?! Thanks for the thread. You know its bloody amazing how much information out there about something as -what I previously thought of as a fairly straightforward matter - car brakes, everyones got an opinion! Theres a fella on the Evo forum who swears by his prodrive big brake conversion on his P1 saying they are better than AP and Brembo and then I met someone else at Donington park last week who says his APs are better than the prodrive brakes... guess I should just go for one that has a good overall reputation and be done with it! AP 6 pots here I come...now where did I put that 0% credit card for 6 months offer thingie...??

Mike Tuckwood at Scoobymania was the cheapest I found when I was looking. He was of the view that the 4 pots were more than adequate for all but those who race on slicks. He did have a good offer on AP 4 pots as well.

(Went for Alcons in the end)

On the APs vs Alcons I would add I have driven both (not back to back) and as I remember there is nothing in it really. APs are supposed to be cheaper when it comes to replacing discs. Alcons are backed by subaru warranty (which swung it for me). Both are about same price if you shop about.

Have heard bad things about Tarox dpmt know if true.

They should be able to do you a good price.
I just paid less than £1600 all in for mine. Delivered to the door.
