Default Type R brake upgrade-lots of fade

Does anyone have any suggestions as to a front brake upgrade for my "99 Type R?
The problem is when I go out for a blast the initial bite and performance of the brakes are adequate but after slowing down hard a couple of times from over 90 or 100 they just fade and I get a veeeery soft pedal.
Is there any effective way around this without spending crazy money on the likes of AP/K Sport big brake kits?

Cheers
Ryan

new pads, braided lines? depends on budget.. im slightly biased but i have found in the past that new pads like ferodo or similar is always a good start.

Decent discs, pads, fluid and braided lines will improve the braking no end.
