front brake knocking
Hi guys I have done a search but cannot really find a cure only that there are a few people with the same problem.
Problem I have is there is quite a loud knocking when on and off the brake at slow speed it appears to only come from the near side.. Its hard to explain but if you were rolling in traffic and went on off the brakes its like the pads grip and the whole thing is moving slightly... i had them checked out and all apears to be in order pins are there shims are there etc pins seem loose but not sure if they meant to be tight.
Really getting to breaking point with it because it sounds really bad and i dont know if its dangerous!
Found one thread saying that brake knock is normal on sti but I refuse to beleive that as it certainly doesnt sound right.
Pads changed 3 weeks ago.
also they squeel really high pitch too not sure if this could be related.
The car is a v5 type r 2 door by the way...
Any help or advice would be gratefully received
Thanks in advance

hey there mate,
not sure if this helps but i have been having some weird noises coming from my front brakes. took the wheel off and had a look, turned out the pad was sticking to the disc after lifting off the brake pedal as a result of the piston being a bit stiff.
So I took the pads out and gace the caliper a good old clean and sprayed the piston with some wd40.
Lubed up the pins with copper grease and re fitted the whole lot.
no more noises.
Worth a go mate, only takes about half an hour.
