My Hi Spec 6 pots - Pics at last!!
#1
Got them on the car at last.
I was the one who organised the group buy, yet I got my kit the last!
Anyway, I have 355mm discs and bells with Hi Spec 6 pots and stainless hoses all round. Bloody superb is all I can say.
Cheers,
MS

You said before that the pad size for the Hispec 6pot was the same as the AP 4pot, how does this compare with the subaru standard 4 pad, is there any difference in size ?

Hi Mark. That's a good question! Not sure of the answer though! I would hope that the AP4 pad area was larger but I can't say for definate. That's a question for Ian Godney I'd say!
Ian, any ideas!?

Martin , Your discs are on the right way they are not AP discs , the same as I recomend with my discs , If there is any dust off the pads the grooves act like a snow plough and drag the dust outwards , not inwards , the reason AP discs run there grooves the other way is because the cooling vains are angled and not straight , and the grooves are angled the opposite way to the vains , the veins must run this way for the air flow out the AP discs , so the grooves go the 'wrong' way on a AP disc . Hope this helps , Ian - www.godspeedbrakes.co.uk

Martin, they do 'look' like APR discs. And if they are, you'll not be complaining APR discs act like a fan, sucking cold air in at the centre and shoving it out at the perimeter. That's why they're handed left and right.
If you're in any way uncertain, with an APR disc, as you sit in the car looking forward, you should be able to look into the vane and see the aperture. If all you can see is the casting on the back of the vane, you've got the left on the right etc.
Cheers,
Richard.
PS Edited to add, Ian, what are you on about? If there was any reasoning in what you say about the angle of the grooves, why woundn't APR cut the grooves the other way? It's not exactly difficult - they even put wavy-line grooves on the discs they supply to Scoobysport. They can even write your name in the groove pattern if you want (now there's a marketing opportunity ). Fact is it a few simple grooves is all you need, and the angle makes no difference.
