Pagid Brake Upgrade
#1
Does anyone have any experience of the Scoobysport Pagid Group N+ brake kit ie. is it worth fitting. I don't want to upgrade to 4 or 6 pots as I want to keep the standard 15" wheels.

I used to run Pagid 8 groove discs and Pagid blue pads on my old MY00 Scoob - worthwhile improvement over the standard setup - even survived a trackday without serious brake fade. The only down side was that the pads tended to be a bit noisy at low speeds - but there was no doubting their stopping power. Have a chat with Scoobysport as I believe Pete said that they have now improved the 'Blue' pad.
I'm considering something simialr for my MY01 aswell.

I take it you have 2pots if your running 15" wheels.
I've got 2pots and run the Pagid 8 grove disks and FR pads, combined with braided hoses and dot5.1 fluid work very well. They will never be as good as 4pots but as far as 2pots go this as good as it gets with 15" wheels for road use IMO.

I went for the Group N+ Pagid Upgrade from Scoobysport
Now I had heard lots of good stories about these and was expecting something special
Well I let them bed in an to be honest I didn't think I noticed any difference.
Well to cut a long story short 2 weeks latter I happened upon a fellow MY01 owner who asked my opinion I said run it round the block see what you think
He came back raving about them, So I took his round the block and bloody hell the OEM brakes are no where near as effective
Proves what a crap driver I am and a great set of brakes Pagids are

I've had the Grp N+ setup (disks, pads, DOT5.1? fluid & braided pipes)on my Terzo for about a year.
Still very happy and much better that orignal set up.

I've had the Group N setup on my MY99 for a couple of weeks now. It's hard to say how good they are as the first couple of hundred miles were obviously spent bedding them in. You get used to braking like a jessie with huge gaps... Now they're bedded they feel good, but I can't honestly say how much better that the old'uns until I compare like for like.
However, I would add that the fronts were up for replacement at the next service and the cost differential between Lancaster Sevenoaks putting oems on and Scoobysport was not great.
Cheers
