Default Brake caliper to wheel clearance

Hi all ,

I have just fitted some subaru 4 pot calipers to my 1995 wrx , and i have some 17" alloy fitted and the clearance between the subaru lettering on the caliper and the spokes is about 1mm-2mm, is this to tight or is ok , cheers

A bit tight. IIRC AP recommend 3mm minimum. I suppose its about stones getting caught in there, mind your fingers if turning wheel by hand!

AP recommend 4mm as a minimum.
