ABS Light on and staying on but only at speed

ABS Light on and staying on but only at speed
I am a complete newby to the scooby world and I have recently purchased what seems to be a mint 1999 Turbo 2000.
However, when travelling on the motorway and reaching speeds of about 85MPH the ABS light comes on and stays on until I turn off the ignition and restart. The brakes appear to be working normally but I do get a little bit of knocking in the pedal at low speed with full lock on the steering.
Any advise would be great.
