Default Help with tyre size on my classic.

Hi, I'm wondering if some of you guys or girls could help me.

I have a 96 V2 STI type RA classic on standard suspension.
It has OZ Superlegerra 7 x 17's with an ET of 48.

I'm looking to fit R888's and was wondering if 215/45/17's fitted without rubbing the arches. Will I have to go to 205/40/17's?

I'm told the shoulders on R888's are alot squarer and this may cause problems.

So if anyone has experience of this wheel or tyre combo or if there are guru's out there who can resolve this issue for me then I'll be really happy to hear from you.

Thanks

David.

Thumbs up

David,
I always understood the 17" size tyre was a 215/40x17, that's what I'm running on my MY00, I have Toyo T1R's and they don't rub even 4 up with a boot of luggage,
hope this helps?

Ian

Thanks Ian,

Toyo only make R888's in a limited number of sizes.

The two closest being 215 45 17 or 205 40 17.

I have chosen the 205 40 17 as a safe bet and they're £23 cheaper per corner!

Thanks for your help.

Off to the 'Ring in 2 weeks! Lets see how worn they get after 6 days there!

David.
