Default Removing Discs

I'm going to change my pads and discs this afternoon.

The pads are easy, but to remove the discs, do I just need to remove the two caliper bolts, remove the caliper, then in theory the discs slide off? Or is there something else to remove?

Thanks a lot

You can use 2 x m8(iirc) bolts and wind them off,
The caliper and hanger need to be removed but they do need a little help as they corrode on.

For the fronts, it's as you have posted. They usually come loose, but may need a tap with a rubber/hide mallet.

If it's the rears, MAKE SURE THE HANDBRAKE IS OFF, IF NECESSARY, BACK OFF THE HANDBRAKE SHOES THROUGH THE LITTLE HOLE BEHIND THE BRAKES, then there are two holes tapped M8 in each disc. Thread a couple of M8 bolts in them, turn them hand tight, then give each one a turn, in turn, with a spanner, until the disc is forced off.

All done

Took about 1.5 hours. The bolts were pretty tight to get the calipers off, so I had to get the big guns out and show them who was their daddy

At what mileage have you had to renew the discs?
Keep us informed about the performance of that combo?

I'm at 50k. They had quite a big lip on, and I was changing the pads anyway, as the Red Stuff ones that were on were crap to be honest.

Yeah, might get a few miles in at the weekend, so will hopefully bed in pretty soon.
