i have a 98 type r classic thats been lowered and is still on its standard 16" wheels which are 205 wide... im looking to upgrade to 17" and was wondering if i should just stick to the 215 45 17 or would i be able to fit 225 45 17 on it???? would the wider tyres rub???

I'd have said 215/40r17 might be better, thats what i'm running and sat low.

You might find that 225's will rub.

fitted 225/45/17 on my sti v3 and they rubbed on the rear spring cups and also when cornering hard on the wheel arches these where the later type sti alloys re070 tyres and wheels I changed the tyres and fitted 215/ 40/17 toyos on same rims no problems and great tyres
