cheers guys.
the parts i got from good old ebay, the pads were listed as nissan 200sx s14,save yourselft £15 that way !! and the pins were from Bigred.
pads (redstuff)were £81 delivered and pins were £25 delivered
i was going to do the subaru lettering but i dont think i could do it accurate enough to make it look good, probably spoil them cause the lines would be wobbly.

I recon a red logo would look good as it will compliment the red of the pad.
I re-painted the lettering on mine and it isn't too hard to do as the lettering is raised which makes it a bit easier to stick to the lines.

When I recondition calipers we completely strip them , removing the pistons and seals , you need to make sure there is no grit from the bead blaster inside the calipers , and it will get in from the fluid holes , bleed nipple and inlet pipe holes , and the grit will damage your pistons and seals , my advise would be to remove the pistons and seal and make sure they are perfectly clean inside them.
Anyone who wants to do there own calipers , I can supply seal kits for £17.50 each , and stainless steel pistons that will never rust for £15 each
Cheers Ian

yeah, removed all the bead with an airline so thats cool.
thing is, id like new pistons but at £120 for the complete number plus the seal kit your looking at a total of like £200 to refurb them, plus the £200 odd paid for them in the 1st place it works out alot of £££ for a proper refurb.
if i had the £ id do it tho

The roller idea sounds quite clever as the lettering is raised.
Also I found on ebay you can by decal kits in lots of colours to save you having to paint the lettering, my only concern would be how well they would last once your calliper got hot???

Hammerite or Smooth hammerite is the best/cheapest paint to use, sticks and covers well, available to touch up should it get a knock, lasts well.
As regards painting, there are a few tricks for painting raised lettering: a mini roller as stated, or thickly paint a wooden block and press it LIGHTLY against the letters, or use a bit of an old sponge, dab it into the paint, then LIGHTLY onto the letters.
