Default rear brake pad change procedure 04 wrx

hi, could someone tell me the tools required ie spanner size for caliper bolts, and wether the pistons need to be wound back or is the hand brake an internal drum? any tips would be gratefull to, thanks for your time, j

HI
They are very simple to change , there is a metal spring clip going through the pins that hold the pads in place , you can remove the spring clip and pins by hand , the pads will pull out then , the only tool you may need in a flat screw driver the carefully push the pistons back into the calipers , when I do them I put the screw driver between the old pads and the discs , that way you wont damage the piston seals , take one pad out at a time , and fit the new ones as you go , refit the pins and spring clips and pump the pedal to bring the pistons back out before you drive it.

It is a very simple job to do
