Just had a set of Prodrive 7 spokes fitted.
(ops wrong key!)
Dumped the old tri-lock nuts for set of Mcgard - £18 from Listers -not bad for Scoob dealer.

Look at how difficult it would be to get them off without the key, then decide which you want, and hope that you never loose the key!

Halfords do their own locking nuts for good price. As good as anything else on the market. And I'm not usually a fan of Halfords.

Dont touch the Halfords ones they throw your balancing out badly,Subaru's own are made by Mcgaurd and are cheaper than the Halfords ones and look much better, they are chrome where the halfords things are just alloy with a large yellow cap cover that looks sh*t.

Hi

You can get locking nuts at www.performancealloys.com for £14.99 which includes free delivery.

I got mine there and they are good.

Standard Scoob wheel lock-nuts are crap. You can get them off very easily indeed.

The best I've seen are McGard where the key locates on the outer face, not the barrel. This is fundamantally more difficult to crack. Got mine from Scoobysport for about £30.

Also consider wheel design. My track-day wheels have only five spokes and massive brake clearnce to aid cooling. But I think a determined thief could get even my McGard lock nuts off with mole-grips or something, as the barrel is exposed. They'd take the wheels and also my expensive big brakes

Fortunately, my road wheels (Raduis R3s) have a hub where the nuts are completely recessed, so no mole-grip action possible. Important consideration IMHO.

Richard.
