Thumbs up

I had EBC reds fitted a fortnight ago, and I was unimpressed with them to say the least (I felt I could barely stop, completely unlike the Mintex 1155s they replaced). Read a few reviews on here subsequently which generally slated them, so I thought I'd made a mistake. 500 miles of bedding in and they were no better.

However, with 1200 miles on them suddenly they've come alive and are every bit as good as the 1155s, but with no squeal and little dust. I know a lot of people with Scoobs only do 10-15k a year, so give the reds a chance before binning them (and leave massive gaps to the car in front until you've got 1200 miles on them )

I had reds fitted about 2 weeks ago - only done about 400 miles on then so far & am concerned at their stopping power.
If what people say is right (ie need lots of bedding in) then thats fine - can live with that - as long as I know they are going to get better !!

Now that's strange. I had greens on and didn't think they were that good with the Group N discs I've got on. After 2k miles I went over to Reds yesterday (to bed in prior to a track day) and the difference is immense. I know I've only done 250 miles but now I've got pedal feel again and initial bite seems very good. That fact that its on a Skoda shouldn't make a difference should it?

I've got Black Diamond 12G discs if that makes any difference (mind you, there's not that much life left in the grooves now).

Have to say my reds are getting better - with heat in them they are much better than OEM stuff but cold they are no where near as good. Mine are on turbogroove discs. Probably done about 1k on mine so far..........

There is masses of good advice on here about upgrading Subaru's very average standard brakes. Why don't you heed it?

Fact: you can pay a lot for rubbish.

Fact: you can never buy good kit cheap.

Happy stopping,

Richard.
