Default 2006 hawk eye sti tyres

Does anyone know the original brand and tyre type for a MY06 sti, the tyres looked like semi slicks on one side, as I could do with some new ones!!
Or can anyone recommend better tyres??
Cheers W

Bridgestone RE070

Many people love them, but some find them too harsh. They suffer very bad tramlining and are poor in the wet. An excellent alternative is the Uniroyal Rainsport 2. I drove my mates on these recently and they blew me away, wet and dry, and they also get excellent reviews HERE.

Many on here rave about Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta and Goodyear Eagle F1 Assymetric too.
