Posted for a friend, their cars been in for a 30k service.

Dealer has fitted new pads and replaced the discs, anyone successfully claimed against IMs warranty.

Car is owned by a lady not driven hard (same pads since new!) and has never been nearer a track than the circuit car park.

 

had my rear discs replaced under warranty last month. MY99 on 43k.

Knacked rears, that's some achievement

 

Mill lane told me they were corroded and it was a warranty fix, so who was I to argue - especially as the cars on 43k

 

I had my fromt disks replaced on Wednesday due to lots of fine cracks. Its a MY99 with 14K on clock.

I had to pay for the new pads..........for which they also charged me £48+vat to fit. I am in the process of complaining about this. How could they change the disks without removing and refitting pads anyway!

They wouldn't need to remove them to change discs. Just ease them and take off the caliper complete with pads.

BUT...as the car was already up with wheels off, it would only take minutes to change the pads. Shouldn't take more than half an hour to do the lot.

I'm certain my dealer would waive the charge. But it seems your's are recovering the labour element for the whole job (twice)! After obtaining a comparative quote I'd take it direct to IM

 

I have a P1 and we munch through brakes - not upgraded to prodrive versions yet. I am amazed that they have charged you for fitting new pads, I have them changed with the discs under wanrranty cause if the disc is funked I dont want to risk running on funked pads.

I am currently trying to get the ProDrive brakes fitted cause the last set of Subaru brakes lasted 4k miles and that is without track use, alright I hammer it down Essex B roads but I thought the P1 was designed for that...

 

When my rears were done the pads were knackered too they replaced the rear pads at the same time as doing the warranty discs and was 80 quid for supply and fit..............

 

I've just had new front disks/pads on warrenty due to lots of fine cracks as well. Dealer said it was dangerous not to change the pads at the same time. All free and they took the time to wash the car inside and out!

At that point the car had 15K miles NOV MY00

I took it in because of a light scraping noise under gentlr braking. 1K miles later and that has not really gone away and I'm going to take it back to them shortly for a look. Any ideas anyone on what else it could be.
