Default £278 eacch disc from Subaru !!!

Thought I'd call the main stealers just for an idea of how much they would try a fleece me for a set of Front Discs for an 05 STI , they came back with £278 each (including the SIDC discount ) I knew they would be toppy ,but thats plain stupid .
I'm not interested in grooved discs as I had them on my old WRX and the noise annoyed me a bit, any suggestions for a repacement for normal road use at a normal price . I know Godspeed and Aztec seem to be popular but I'm not really looking to upgrade the brakes , but don't really want to comprmise stopping ability obviously.

These look very cheap for 2 discs IMPREZA PARTS 2.0I WRX STI GDB EJ207 2002 TO 2006 UK SPEC Std Front Brake Discs - STi 04/2004 on -326mm GDB STi 2002 on :: £70.00 :: Subaru Impreza Turbo Parts, Tuning, Spares & Accessories :: 2.0i WRX STi GDB 02 To 06 UK - Braking - Brake Discs ::

Thanks for any input
Dave

i'd agree totally, does seem they're not as cheap as a few months back though. i had a quote for £199 for these not so long ago SUBARU IMPREZA WR1 BRAKE DISCS ORIGINAL BREMBO FRONT on eBay, also, Mitsubishi, Car Parts, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 03-Feb-09 15:26:16 GMT) still a good saving over stealer prices though

Dave bid on something like these. Use the discs and sell the calipers.

Calipers will sell for £300 so you ideally want to pay no more than £500.

I have them on my classic and the discs are new.

subaru sti brakes on eBay, also, Subaru, Car Parts, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 25-Jan-09 10:00:52 GMT)

Have you tried Ian Godspeed from Godpseed Brakes?

Have a look in the Group Buy Forum he is very well respected and offers good backup of this products and his pricing is pretty competitive to.
